2. Textile Arts and Historic Clothing
This very rich collection includes Coptic fabrics, Egyptian tunics from the 3rd century, Hispano-Arabic fabrics from the 12th century, Flemish, gothic, renaissance, baroque and neo classical fabrics used as tapestries and liturgical ornaments.
It recounts some of the history of textile techniques from embroidery to needlework through calico and lace.
Graphic Arts Collection
This collection illustrates the technological evolution of graphic arts over three centuries. You can admire historical and contemporary pieces such as wallpapers, typographies and even engraving.
